New Regulations in Ontario: Physicians, CPR and Family Insistence

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO, the provincial physician regulatory body) has issued an update of policy #4-15 (Planning for and Providing Quality End-of-Life Care) which contains new provisions relating to CPR. Among other issues, many physicians believe that they must now perform CPR where the patient or substitute decision maker insists —even if performing CPR is against the professional judgement of the physician.
This forum will hear expert summaries from CPSO, ethical, physician and legal perspectives; audience engagement will be encouraged.
