Professor Menon is Head of the Division of Anaesthesia and Co-Chair of the Acute Brain Injury program at Cambridge University. As founding Director of the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, he developed clinical protocols that have demonstrably improved clinical outcomes, and established the UK’s first recognised training programme for specialist neurocritcal care. Professor Menon’s research interests include neurocritical care, secondary brain injury, metabolic imaging of brain injury, and the physiology of anaesthesia,coma and the vegetative state. His research is funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences, MRC, Royal College of Anaesthetists, Evelyn Trust, Wellcome Trust , the European Commission and he is an NIHR Senior Investigator
