I have worked for NHS Blood and Transplant now for a decade and much of that time has been spent living and working in Wales. I started my career in Organ Donation as a Specialist Nurse in Organ Donation in West Wales. After being a Specialist Nurse, I’ve followed the leadership pathway in NHS Blood and Transplant, becoming a Team Manager and then Regional Manager for the South Wales team. Throughout my career in Organ Donation, deemed consent legislation has been high on the agenda, whether it’s in the form of a public consultation, to presenting evidence to the Health and Social Care Committee in the Senedd through to leading the operational implementation of the new law in the Welsh team. Now, I am the project lead for the Legislation Implementation programme, focusing on preparing the clinical teams to deliver the new law which is due to be enacted in Spring 2020.
