Melissa Shears is a 3rd year medical student at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She began working in Critical Care research in 2013 under the mentorship of Dr. Deborah Cook. She has enthusiastically worked on several projects including PROSPECT, the 3 Wishes Demonstration Project, and TryCYCLE. She held a Summer Student Award with the Canadian Frailty Network, and remains an active member. Recently, she led a study on Assessing Frailty in the Intensive Care Unit. As a young investigator, her focus is on patient centered research in the ICU, specifically including End of Life Care and Frailty.
