Karen Dryden-Palmer

Karen is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the PICU at the Hospital for Sick Children. Her clinical focus includes child and family experience of critical illness, chronic critical illness in childhood and clinical education. Karen is a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto in knowledge translational and implementation science. Karen is appointed as a Project Investigator with the Research institute at Sick Kids. Her research is concerned with understanding how practice innovations are taken up in complex health care systems, provider wellbeing and child and family outcomes after critical childhood illness. She is a past President of the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses, a member of the Canadian Blood Services National Donation Advisory and Professional Education Committees. Karen is passionate advancing critical care practice though education innovation.
