Sandra L. Kane-Gill, PharmD, MS, FCCM, FCCP, is Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She has secondary appointments in the School of Medicine in the Clinical Translational Science Institute, Department of Critical Care Medicine and the Department of Biomedical Informatics. She also serves as Associate Professor for the Center for Critical Care Nephrology and Center for Pharmaceutical Policy and Prescribing. In addition to her academic appointments, Dr. Kane-Gill is Critical Care Medication Safety Pharmacist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the Department of Pharmacy. Dr. Kane-Gill’s research interests include the assessment of economic, clinical, and quality outcomes for critically ill patients. Her goal is to identify effective approaches for the detection, prevention, and management of medication errors and adverse drug events as to improve quality of care and patient safety.
