Dr Paul Young is a Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine at Wellington Hospital and the Co-Clinical Leader of the Intensive Care Unit. He is the Clinical Director of the Wakefield Hospital Private Intensive Care Unit, Director of the Intensive Care Research Programme at the Medical Research Institute of New Zealand, Deputy Director of the Medical Research Institute of New Zealand, and a Health Council of New Zealand Clinical Practitioner Fellow.
Despite only nine years of research experience Paul has more than 110 peer-reviewed publications including publications in the NEJM, JAMA, and the Lancet. He is currently involved in research collaborations with investigators in the UK, Europe, Brazil, the USA, and Canada. He has current research grants totaling >$15M.
Paul lives in Wellington, New Zealand with his wife and three children. He likes fishing and kite-surfing in his spare time.
