Dr. Michael Klompas is Professor of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Hospital Epidemiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He attends on the infectious disease and internal medicine services of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He has published widely on surveillance, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of ventilator-associated pneumonia, ventilator-associated events, and sepsis. He was a member of the American Thoracic Society – Infectious Disease Society of America guideline panel on Management of Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia and co-chair of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America guideline panel on Strategies to Prevent Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia.
