Dr. Menon completed her MD from the University of British Columbia in 1989 and her subsequent training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care in Ottawa in 1994 and Vancouver in 1996 respectively. She is currently a Professor in Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Ottawa and a Senior Investigator at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. She has a Master’s in Epidemiology and is cross-appointed to the School of Epidemiology and Public Health. Her research is focused on the role of corticosteroids in pediatric septic shock as well as the consent process in pediatric critical care studies. She has held multiple CIHR grants and has received several awards for her research mentorship. She has a Tier 2 University Research Chair in pediatric shock at the University of Ottawa and is currently the co-PI on a CIHR/NIH funded international RCT of hydrocortisone versus placebo in pediatric septic shock.
