Dr. Kirsten Fiest

Dr. Fiest is an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary and the Director of Research and Innovation for the Department of Critical Care Medicine. She is the co-lead of the Trainee Portfolio for the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, the Program Coordinator for the CIHR Health System Impact Fellowship, and the research lead of the Office the Associate Dean of Professionalism, Equity, and Diversity. Dr. Fiest received her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Calgary and completed post-doctoral training in neuro and psychiatric epidemiology from the University of Manitoba. Her CIHR-funded research program focuses on advancing the science of patient and family-centered critical care research. Her current work examines the role of family in preventing, detecting, and managing delirium in the critically ill.
