Completed medical school and Family Medicine Residency at Université de Montréal. After 2 years of practice, began residency in Internal Medicine at McGill University’s Royal Victoria hospital followed by residency in Neurology at McGill and a Fellowship in Neurocritical Care at John’s Hopkins hospital and University in Baltimore Maryland.
Chair of the Canadian Critical Care group on the criteria for brain death in 1995 Executive committee member of the Canadian Forum on the Neurologic Determination of Death, 2003. Presently, Dr. Teitelbaum is the program director for the Neurocritical Care Fellowship at the Montreal neurological Institute (MNI), has a major involvement in the clinical functioning of acute stroke at MNI, is the Co-chair of the Neurology program, first year medical school, University of Montreal, and is the President of the Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation.
