j-rouleauDr. Jean L. Rouleau is the Scientific Director of the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) of the Canadian Institutes of Health and Research (CIHR).
Dr. Rouleau was Dean of the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Medicine (2003-2010). He practices cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute. A respected cardiologist and world-famous researcher, he previously served as Director of the Cardiac Program and the Cardiology Division at Toronto’s University Health Network and at Mount Sinai Hospital (1999-2003). He possesses a vast understanding of the worlds of teaching, research and care settings and has published over 365 scientific articles. He has been awarded the Canadian Centennial Medal, the Exceptional Merit Award given by the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec, the Canadian Henry Friesen Award, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society’s (CCS) Career Research Achievement Award, the CCS Annual Achievement Award and the Quebec Medical Association’s Prestige Award.
