Dr. Ivor Douglas

ivorIvor S. Douglas, MD is Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado, and Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center where he has directed the medical ICU since 2002. Having graduated medical school in South Africa and completed residency and fellowship training in London, Great Britain and at University of Chicago. Dr. Douglas is principle investigator for ongoing investigations funded by NIH and the US Dept. of Defense in several aspects of critical care, including basic mechanistic studies and clinical trials in ARDS, sepsis diagnosis and treatment and therapeutic strategies for sedation and delirium in the critically ill. Dr. Douglas serves as chair of the American Thoracic Society’s Critical Care Assembly program committee for 2015-16. Dr. Douglas is an avid music listener, player and choral singer.
