François Lellouche, MD , PhD, is Associate Professor, Department of Medicine at Laval University, specialist in internal medicine and intensive care, he works at the Institut Universitaire de Cardiologie et de Pneumologie de Québec in cardiac surgery intensive care. Dr. Lellouche is regular researcher in the research center of IUCPQ and member of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group (CCCTG ) and Research Group Critical Care Respiratory Health Network of FRQ-S. The research program of Dr. Lellouche is focused on the development and evaluation of automated methods of respiratory support, humidification systems, patient-ventilator asynchronies. He conducted several randomized controlled trials to evaluate automated weaning (SmartCare) and the fully automated system of ventilation (Intellivent). The team of Dr. Lellouche has developed an automated system for adjusting the oxygen with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Laval University (FreeO2 system) and new systems for ventilatory support are developed.
