Dr. Golan obtained his medical degree from McGill University. He acquired training in Internal Medicine from McGill University and Critical Care Medicine from the University of Toronto. He then completed a fellowship in Neurosciences Critical Care Medicine at the University of Cambridge, England. He currently works as an intensivist at the Toronto Western Hospital as a Clinical Associate, and is an Honorary Fellow and Researcher at the University of Cambridge.
He is pursuing graduate studies through a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology (IHPME) and a collaborative Masters in Resuscitation (IMS), both at the University of Toronto. His main research focuses on the long-term outcomes of critically ill patients with brain injury, with a specific focus on the prognostication of neurological outcomes in cardiac arrest survivors. He is a co-investigator on studies of cardiac arrest, and is involved in national and international guidelines of prognostication in adult cardiac arrest survivors.
