My lab is dedicated to identifying novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of organ failure in patients with sepsis and ARDS. To this end, we developed various model systems from basic cell to animal models of lung injury and sepsis. We use whole genome (such as transcriptomic) and various computational strategies to guide functional genomics experiments designed to screen putative targets for their likelihood of changing outcomes in our pre-clinical models of sepsis and ARDS. To answer more complex questions my lab also collaborates with clinical researchers to translate our findings to patients.
