Dr Bronwen Connolly is an NIHR Clinical Trials Fellow based at the UK Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre, and Consultant Clinical Research Physiotherapist in Critical Care at Guy’s and St.Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. In August 2019, she will commence a Senior Lecturer position at Queen’s University Belfast, UK. Her current work centres on the development of a core outcome set for trials of physical rehabilitation in critical illness. Her research interests include physiological assessment of peripheral skeletal muscle architecture and function, the recovery, long-term outcome and survivorship of post critical illness patients, acute respiratory physiotherapy, and clinical trial methodology around complex rehabilitation interventions including physical rehabilitation. She is involved with a number of major national and international critical care organisations including the NIHR Critical Care Specialty Group, the UK Critical Care Research Group, and the International Forum for Acute Care Trialists.
