Dr. Brian Grunau

Dr. Grunau’s research focus is the management of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) that prove refractory to initial resuscitation attempts. He is an investigator with the Canadian Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and has twice been awarded the AHA Young Investigator Award. He has contributed to the HSF / AHA Heartsaver and ACLS Experienced Provider courses.
With colleagues at St. Paul’s Hospital and BC Emergency Health Services, Dr. Grunau led the creation of the first regional ECPR program for OHCA in Canada. Dr. Grunau is the co-chair of the Canadian ECPR Research Network for OHCA and has spoken to multiple audiences in on this topic, most recently as an invited speaker at the 2018 EuroELSO meeting.
