Dr. Alexis Turgeon

Dr. Turgeon practices Critical Care Medicine at the CHU de Québec – Université Laval (Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus) in Québec City, Canada. He is Associate Professor and Director of Research in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, and scientist in the Trauma-Emergency-Critical Care Medicine Unit of the Population Health and Optimal Health Practices Axis at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Centre. He Co-founded the Perioperative Anesthesia Clinical Trials (PACT) Group and the Canadian Traumatic Brain Injury Research Consortium (CTRC) that he Co-Chairs. He is the Director of Cochrane Canada Francophone.

He leads the CIHR-funded TBI-Prognosis Study and the TBI-QualE Study on prognostic evaluation and determinants of the decision to withdraw life-sustaining therapies in TBI patients. He leads the HEMOTION trial, a CIHR-funded multicenter RCT on RBC transfusion in TBI (co-Pls Lauzier, Fergusson). Dr. Turgeon is the Chairholder of the Canada Research Chair in Critical Care Neurology and Trauma.
