This is the second intensive simulation training and assessment course for Canada-wide pediatric critical care trainees.
The one-day course focuses on team training and assessment of the individual trainee within a team context for high-stakes but uncommon scenarios.
Location: Hospital for Sick Children & PCGRL
Date: November 5, 2018
Structure: Critical care teams (2 MD trainees, 1 RNs, 1 RT) will rotate, perform and be assessed and debriefed together through 8 scenarios. This emphasizes training and assessment of individuals within a team context.
Scenario will last 15-30 min, with 20-40 min debriefing.
The day runs from 9am-4pm
Scenarios: 8 high-fidelity simulation scenarios, including resuscitation, communication and end of life care, troubleshooting ECMO, performing invasive procedures, teaching and collaboration.
Faculty: Canadian and International simulation experts from pediatric critical care.
