Dr. Victoria McCredie

Victoria trained in acute medicine at the University of Manchester, moving to Canada in 2009 to complete fellowships in critical care and neurocritical care medicine, both at the University of Toronto. Victoria went on to complete her Ph.D. in clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto examining the relationship between processes of care, structure, and outcome for critically ill patients with acute brain injury. In particular, she studied the withdrawal of life-sustaining therapies, airway management strategies and the organization of critical care services for traumatic brain injured patients. Victoria’s ongoing research program focuses on the organization of critical care for subarachnoid hemorrhage patients, airway management strategies for acutely brain-injured patients, and the development of an integrated neurocritical care clinical informatics platform to evaluate pathophysiologic mechanisms contributing to secondary brain injury during critical illness.
