I am MD specialized in pediatric critical care with an expertise in clinical trials and in transfusion medicine.
Did my Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care training at Sainte-Justine Hospital, Université de Montréal.
Went on to do post-doc in basic research from 1992-1995 at Boston University and then at the Lawson Research Institute in London, Ontario.
Undertook clinical research career in 2001 and have carried out several research projects in the field of transfusion medicine and produced several peer-reviewed publications.
Along with Dr Philip Spinella, I am currently the principal investigator of a multicenter randomized clinical trial, the Age of Blood in Children in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (ABC-PICU) study, whose main goal is to assess the impact of red blood cell storage time on outcome in critically ill children.
