Dr. Brian H. Rowe is the Scientific Director of the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. He is a professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta. He holds a Tier I Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Evidence-based Emergency Medicine (2011-2018). He previously co-directed the University of Alberta’s Evidence-Based Practice Centre (2002-2014), is co-editor of the Cochrane Airways Group, and the editor of the textbook Evidence-Based Emergency Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and has authored over 480 peer-reviewed publications and 30 book chapters.
Dr. Rowe earned his BA in biology from Queen’s University, his MD is from the University of Ottawa and his MSc in clinical epidemiology is from McMaster University. He continues to practice clinical emergency medicine at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.
